The 64 mm (2 33/64″) TUPHblox with an eye can be used with a fastening where the pin or bow can be inserted through the elongated slot at the top. If required, it is also available with an eye. It is suitable for ropes up to 16 mm (5/8″). TUPHblox are made from a phenolic resin laminate reinforced with cotton, better known as Tufnol. It is strong, durable and lightweight. All blocks are fitted with stainless steel (316) fittings and run on brass bearings.

Tufnol is a multi-layer, fabric-laminated, resin-bonded construction that is heated and then pressed to the desired thickness. This results in a range of products that meet the stringent performance and environmental requirements applicable to sailing yachts, commercial applications and industrial users. It is non-conductive, making it ideal for industrial applications such as hot-air balloons and potentially explosive environments. The TUPHblox series is manufactured with stainless steel and brass components, making them lightweight and strong. In 2023, Barton returned to the production of Tufnol blocks and to its retro roots to meet the requirements of classic heritage vessels worldwide, as well as commercial and industrial users. The TUPHblox series is constructed with marine-grade 316 stainless steel components and brass bearings. The result is a durable range of blocks and gears that offer high load capacity, greater strength and durability, UV and weather resistance, and guarantee the product’s longevity. Although specific wire rope blocks are available in the range, even the rope variants work with steel cables.
