1201 ADJUSTABLE MASTSTEP WITH ROUND CUP - RACE

Adjustable Optimist mast base with reinforced cup. This cup has been improved in several key areas to ensure a longer service life:

• Both the base and the rounded part of the cup have become thicker, from 1.5 mm to 2 mm.
• The weld between the bowl and the threaded section has been made thicker.
• Please note: this reinforced mast base (cup) weighs 30 grams more than the existing one.

The good news is that the new cup fits all the old base plates that are already fitted in boats, making this a straightforward upgrade.

Otherwise, the details remain the same as for the existing mast base; this Optimist mast base has an oval socket, allowing the mast to tilt forwards when sailing downwind. Different mast angles can be easily replicated using the scale markings on the base. A spring lock for the mast base is available separately. The stainless-steel spring prevents the nut from accidentally turning. No additional lock nuts are required when using the spring lock.
